Resilience names Colonel Judson C. Dressler to lead Risk Operations Centre expansion

Resilience, a provider of cyber risk solutions, has announced that recently retired Colonel Judson C. Dressler will join the company to lead its Risk Operations Centre (ROC).
Dressler will be responsible for overseeing the expansion of the ROC—an internal risk intelligence and threat hunting capability designed to identify cyber risks early and reduce financial impacts for clients.
Dressler brings 20 years of experience from the US Air Force. He previously served as the Permanent Professor and Head of the Department of Computer and Cyber Sciences at the United States Air Force Academy, where he taught over 1,200 cadets annually and conducted research in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
He also commanded the 835th Cyberspace Operations Squadron, leading a team of 134 cyber personnel focused on intelligence-driven defensive operations.
“I’ve seen firsthand how intricate the current threat landscape is. Threat actors are moving faster, thanks in part to advancements in AI. Simply reacting to these threats is not enough to stop financial and reputational damage,” said Dressler.
“The ROC is the strongest industry solution proactively protecting companies from threats, and it’s why I chose to join Resilience after leaving military service. The ROC applies military principles to security intelligence and operations to proactively protect clients, breaking down barriers between information-sharing channels and swiftly alerting them to threats. I’m excited to push the power of the ROC even further with Resilience’s best-in-class risk intelligence, data, and underwriting.”
The ROC employs a two-part approach: alerting clients to financial threats before they can cause damage, and using risk intelligence to support underwriting decisions when evaluating new clients. The center aims to provide timely, relevant guidance while encouraging better communication between security and risk teams.
The approach has helped Resilience clients. For example, when Palo Alto Networks issued a warning in 2024 about a zero-day vulnerability in PAN-OS Global Protect VPN, the ROC used client security data to notify those at risk who had not yet been informed.
By analysing claims notifications, the ROC created an overview of the situation across Resilience’s portfolio, identifying more potential victims and helping prevent up to $81 million in losses.
In another case, when PowerSchool was breached through its vendor PowerSource, some Resilience clients faced indirect risk. The ROC provided intelligence to data teams who developed financial risk models, which were then shared with underwriting to improve risk assessments.
“We designed the ROC to closely resemble an Air Operation Center, a concept used by the Air Force, to bring in a diverse set of expertise to ladder up to a common intelligence goal,” added Resilience CEO, Vishaal “V8” Hariprasad.
“Dressler’s experience makes him the ideal leader for our team. He has the know-how to identify threats quickly and disperse information quickly to mitigate the potential damage. We’re honoured to have him on our team.”
“Resilience’s Risk Operations Center is the key to how we proactively protect clients from financial losses and reach our goal of making the world more cyber resilient,” commented Ann Irvine, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Resilience.
“We actively hunt for threats and deliver precise advisories to clients so they can take action before threats develop into losses. Judson steps in at a critical time to help scale the ROC while adding more capabilities to help us keep clients ahead of bad actors.”
