Alasdair Walker is to succeed Li Sheung Kin (S.K.) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sompo Hong Kong, subject to appropriate local regulatory and immigration approvals, as the executive retires after 24 years with the company.<\/p>\n

\"SompoLi has held several leadership roles during his career with Sompo Hong Kong. He was appointed CEO in 2016 and has been instrumental in strengthening Sompo\u2019s Hong Kong business.<\/p>\n

According to the announcement, the executive will remain with Sompo Hong Kong until the end of 2025 to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.<\/p>\n

As the new CEO of Sompo Hong Kong, Walker will be responsible for driving the company\u2019s profitability and capabilities as a key Commercial hub in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.<\/p>\n

He will be reporting to Kenneth Reilly, CEO, Insurance, APAC and Deputy CEO, Commercial Insurance, Sompo Japan.<\/p>\n

Walker joined Sompo International in August, 2023 as Regional Head of Distribution, Asia Pacific following a 12-year tenure with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS).<\/p>\n

During his time at AGCS, the executive held a number of roles, including Business Strategy Analyst, Global Energy; Head of Energy, Africa Region; Regional Head of Energy & Marine, Africa Region; Regional Head of Key Account Management, Asia Pacific and Head of Distribution, Singapore\/SEA; and Regional Head of Distribution, Asia Pasific.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the leadership changes, Reilly said: \u201cI want to extend my heartfelt thanks to S.K. for his years of dedication and significant contributions to Sompo. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours. I am also pleased to welcome Alasdair to the Hong Kong and Asia Pacific leadership teams.<\/p>\n
