Philippe Cotelle to succeed Charlotte Hedemark as FERMA President

Philippe Cotelle has been elected as the next President of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA), succeeding Charlotte Hedemark who completes her two-year tenure.
Cotelle is currently a Board member of FERMA and Head of Cyber Insurance Management and Head of Insurance Risk Management for Airbus Defence & Space, and will officially take on the role of President on 24 October.
Commenting on his appointment, Cotelle said: “I am deeply honoured to be elected President of FERMA. Today, the Federation holds an unprecedented position in representing and championing the interests of the European risk management community at both EU and international levels.
“Our mission—to embed risk management into the core of every organisation’s business model and culture—remains central to all we do. As we continue to empower our members and advance our profession, I am committed to ensuring FERMA remains at the forefront of innovation, strategic influence and thought leadership.”
Hedemark added: “Philippe is an excellent choice for President of FERMA. His passion for and commitment to advancing the risk management profession are evident in everything he has contributed during his time on the FERMA Board, and he has been instrumental in driving forward key initiatives that support and strengthen the risk management community. He is uniquely qualified to lead FERMA as it continues to represent and support its members in a rapidly changing world.”
Cotelle brings over two decades of experience in risk management to his new role, having served on the FERMA Board for eight years, as well as a Board member of AMRAE.
Since 2017, he has held a dual role at Airbus Defence ?& Space, where he initially joined in 2014 as Head of Insurance Risk Management.
His career also includes senior risk positions as EADS Astrium Division and a role as Senior Space Risk Underwriter at SCOR.
FERMA’s General Assembly has also previously announced the election of four new Board members: Dr. Ulrich Adamheit, Head of Group Risk Management at Electrolux Group, Tadas Cilcius, Senior Risk Manager at Kashimi in Lithuania, Christian Jens Fuchsenthaler, Head of Corporate Insurance at Daimler Truck AG; and Luis Lancha Vázquez, Head of Risk & Insurance at SENER Group.
Annemarie Schouw, Manager Risk & Insurance at Tata Steel Europe, was also re-elected to the Board.
